The Ohio Workers’ Compensation system is a no-fault insurance system that provides for the payment of lost wages, medical services and other benefits when an employee suffers an injury, develops an illness, or dies from an incident arising out of their employment.
This system was established by the State of Ohio and covers the employees of both private and public employers. There are no costs for this insurance to the employee and benefits are determined by the extent of injury and the needs of the claimant.
The Ohio Worker’s Compensation system is slow, cumbersome, and discouraging. The system is slow because there are numerous appeal windows and waiting periods that must be observed before a final determination is made. The system is cumbersome in that it requires a slew of paperwork be completed by multiple parties. Lastly, the system is discouraging because there are frequent initial denies with limited explanation. Employers take advantage of this system by hiring professional representatives to fight your claim at every level in an effort to pay as little as possible.
If you have sustained an injury while working, it is important to have an experienced advocate on your side to guide your claim through the process and to ensure that you receive all of the benefits that you are entitled. Those benefits could include:
· Payment of medical bills;
· Compensation for temporary disability;
· Compensation for permanent disability;
· Wage loss;
· Living maintenance;
· Vocational rehabilitation; and
· Reimbursement for specific travel expenses.
Since 2008, I have been an advocate for injured workers. I take the time to ensure my clients are well informed, that claims have been properly investigated and documented, and that I am prepared for each and every proceeding. I am a compassionate and zealous activist for my clients.
For my clients I have: Investigated injuries to determine coverage; Appealed denied claims, conditions, or treatment; Negotiated settlements of claims; Obtained compensation and payment of bills; and Participated in all levels of litigation, including trial.
Do not fight the system alone. I want to assist you in your return to work as soon as possible while also holding your employer responsible and making the Workers’ Compensation system work for you.
Personal injury refers to injuries of a person’s body or mind that is the result of another’s negligence, intentional acts, or strict liability. Personal injuries are unexpected, life-altering incidents. The common types of personal injuries include:
If you have been injured as the actions or inactions of another, it is important to have a knowledgeable representative on your side to assist in obtaining you a fair and reasonable recovery. Since 2008, I have representative numerous personal injury clients and have obtained them compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain & suffering.
Under Ohio law, a dog’s owner, harbor, or keeper is strictly liable for the injuries caused by their dog. Strict liability is important in that it does not require the victim of a dog injury to prove negligence on the part of the owner, harbor, or keeper. The victim merely has to prove that s/he was injured by a dog, either bitten or knocked over, and harmed in some manner. It is the responsibility of the dog’s owner, harbor, or keeper to control their dog and protect others from harm. There are a few exceptions to strict liability such as criminal trespass, tormenting the dog, or violence against another. There is no requirement that the dog be declared dangerous or vicious and the dog is not given one “free bite.”
A bite or attack from a dog can leave both physical and emotional scars. It is important to have an experienced advocate on your side to ensure that your recovery is fair and reasonable in light of your injuries. Since 2008, as an attorney, I have been an advocate for those injured by dogs. I take the time to ensure that my clients understand the process, that claims have been properly documented, and that I am prepared for all proceedings. I am a considerate and enthusiastic advocate for my clients.
One of the most common types of personal injury cases are automobile accidents or car wrecks. While you can defensively drive to protect yourself and others, some accidents are unavoidable due to the unpredictability of the experience and attentiveness of other drivers that you may encounter. Vehicle collisions never come at the right time and may cause serious physical and financial harm. If you are injured in a collision, you may be entitled to:
· Medical expenses
· Lost wages
· Pain & Suffering
· Compensation for other Losses
Under Ohio law, drivers are required to maintain liability insurance on their vehicles. Insurance companies can be very difficult to deal with even when the other driver is clearly at fault. It is important to have a reliable and competent advocate to deal with the insurance companies to ensure that you get all that you are entitled. Since 2008, I have represented clients that have been injured in car wrecks through no fault of their own. I take the time to ensure that my clients are informed, that injuries have been properly documented, and that recoveries are fair.
